I have always had a passion for working with kids and have seen the positive impact sports can have on their lives. The sports arena is like life. It’s where dreams are born, goals are made, success is realized, and obstacles overcome. It serves as a lesson in teamwork and appreciates individual talent. It’s also where lifelong friendships can be formed.
As a PE teacher and coach in North Phoenix, I see first-hand how sports can give kids a solid foundation for all areas of their lives and help them be better athletes. I have designed a series of week-long camps to help athletes at the 4th to 8th grade levels be better prepared for competitive play in basketball, baseball and volleyball within the competitive environment of middle school and high school athletics. We also provide private individual training for students from 4th grade through high school.
These camps are designed to help bridge the gap between each competitive level. With experience in coaching at both the high school and middle school level, my goal is to set realistic expectations for our campers and help them develop the essential skills needed to be competitive and successful at each level.
Our goal is for all campers to work hard and have fun! We are not only trying to bridge gaps in competitive play but also make connections amongst campers and with instructors. Peak Performance Sports Camps will utilize both high school players and at times, high school coaches, to work with our campers and discuss what is expected and which skills are necessary to be successful at the next level. From time to time, based on availability/time of year, we will also welcome collegiate and professional athletes to present and help instruct campers.
At the conclusion of each camp, campers will be provided with feedback on areas of strength and areas for development. Our hope is that campers will be able to use the drills learned in camp to continue to work on these skill areas outside of camp!
